Her Favourite Toy

The chubby kid does not have alot of toys. She has a few rattles and some soft toy and a talking book. You see, the thing is that, she doesn't really like playing with all those toys. She prefers playing with stuffs like the Astro remote control, the TV remote control, my handphone, which she flings away as far as possible when she's done playing with it, wastepaper basket, plastic bag, laundry basket, papers, brochures, unused cardboard, chairs, fan, tubes of cream, tissues, etc. Certainly a weird selection of toys for an infant.

So, some time back, I tried to put her toys (real toys) in a small red basket to see which toy she will choose and play with. I just wanted to see if she has a favourite toy.

And indeed, she has. She immediately reaches out for it without considering the others. Guess which is her favourite toy?

It's the small red basket used to stash her toys. Hehe...

So Torturing!

It's such a torture to see the chubby kid consume so much medicine at a time. I'm sure all of you know how kids are when it comes to taking medicine.

She will struggle so hard to get away every time. But what to do? The doctor was worried that the bronchitis might developed into pneumonia. She still coughs and has flu this morning. Hope she will recover soon.

Sleepless

It's 4:45am now. I have been awake since 1 hour ago. No, this time, the chubby kid did not wake up and cough at 3am. It's a relief since she has been waking up at 3am for the past 5 nights to cough incessantly. Perhaps, I now have a biological alarm that wakes me up at around this time since I have been doing that for the past 5 nights. I'm so tired. I cannot go back to sleep. I do not know why it's so hard for me to go back to sleep everytime I wake up at this hour. To add to my irritation, there's mosquitoes that attacked me every night since I slept on my husband's side of bed.

I have no one to talk to or disturb now. My husband is away on travelling. I'm contemplating calling him but then again, I do not want to disturb his sleep. He will have a busy day ahead of him.

It's raining heavily outside. I love the sound of raindrops. It gives me a nostalgic feeling. How can I make myself fall asleep now? I have a busy day ahead of me. So many tasks unfinished with approaching datelines. My workload has been preventing me from blogging more often. This was one of the reasons why I did not want to start a blog earlier on but then since I had started, I will strive to keep it updated as often as I can. Actually, I have a few entries which I do not have the time to update. Now is not the time for it. I'm too lazy to go get the photos in the memory card. Perhaps, later today if I have the time. Or maybe tomorrow. We'll see then.

Good night or should I say, good morning!

Getting Worse

The chubby kid's cough is getting worse. She has been waking up at 3am for the past 5 nights in a row and cough and choke. I do not know what to do to help her alleviate her cough. It's very hard for me to see her go through this.

This morning, she seems to have a bit of temperature. However, after awhile, it seems to have subsided. Her food intake for the past 5 days have been very much reduced. She does not seem to want her porridge and she does not seem to want to drink water. She still takes her milk though. She's in a cranky mood most of the time. She must be feeling so difficult.

I do hope she will get well soon.

She's Got Bronchitis!

Oh man! The chubby kid is having bronchitis. She's been coughing and wheezing for the past two weeks. Every morning and night, she will cough until she seems to be short of breath. Sometimes, in the middle of the night, she will cough until she seems to choke.

It's so depressing to see her like that. I really pity her. I hope that she will get will soon, as we will be bringing her for a long holiday soon.

She's now 14 months old and 12.5kg. Quite a load to carry for a long time. She has yet to learn to walk as she only knows how to walk with support. She's having regular porridge, milk, mash potato, egg and apple juice for her meals. Sometimes, we give her rice with soup, which she seems to like tremendously.

It's been a rather hectic month for me. I do hope that she will get well soon.

CNY 2008

CNY this year is rather quiet for me. My parents were travelling and so I could not visit them. I called my Grandma, Aunty and Uncle in Singapore to wish them Gong Xi Fa Cai. And then I called another Uncle in Perth. He said CNY is just like any other day in Perth. Haha...

I did not go out much except to a few relatives' houses. The chubby kid has to take her nap every afternoon, and so I had to stay home to make sure she takes her nap. There were quite a number of people who came to visit and so my husband was rather busy entertaining them. His friends came for a gathering on the first night of CNY and stayed drinking till 2:30am. It sounded fun with all the jokes and laughter but I did not join them because I had to put the chubby kid to bed and then I myself fell asleep.

The chubby kid received quite a number of angpaus. Talking about angpaus, hehe...look, my aunty gave my husband and I each an angpau. Golden angpau some more! Don't play play!

And look at the angpau she gave to the chubby kid. A 3-D angel angpau. So nice!

Happy CNY

The sound of fire crackers and fire works are continuously harrassing my ears ever since 6pm. And it's less than an hour to the stroke of midnight. The fire crackers are getting louder by the second. What the heck! As long as those irritating sounds do not disturb my little brat's sleep.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all my family and friends a very Happy CNY. Best wishes in all your undertakings.
