Last weekend, we went on an outing to Manchester. It takes only about one hour to drive from Liverpool to Manchester.
We went to the Lowry at the Salford Quays. Earlier that week, I went there to attend a symposium and finding it a very nice place, I went again together with my husband and chubby kid that weekend.
The Lowry is a theatre and gallery, with facilities for conferences and meetings.
It has a very nice interior, decorated in the style of a gallery.
Opposite the Lowry is an outlet mall for shopping.
I am not particularly impressed with the shopping there. I still like Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet better.
One very nice piece of architecture at the Lowry is the Lowry footbridge.
There is also a very nice waterfront pavement for people to enjoy a walk or jog in the cool breeze.
Later on, we also visited the Trafford Centre. This is also a shopping mall, which is very big and is full of people shopping and enjoying their meals over the weekend. The interior of the mall is very nicely decorated.
There is even a little ChinaTown theme in there, where there are lots of chinese restaurants, as well as, restaurants serving food from various nationalities.
Well, this is just a typical mall. Nothing fancy. I was quite happy with the fact that chubby kid enjoyed playing in the toy store there.
Hope to bring her out to more places during these few months when the weather is good.
