We made some chicken pie three weeks ago. It was an ad-hoc decision and we had most of the ingredients ready. However, everything seemed to go wrong in our attempt.
When we prepared the pastry, we realized that we did not have a roller pin. Thus, we had to use a Tupperware bottle to roll the pastry dough. Then, we did not have any mould for pies. I was not even sure if we needed one but it was pretty hard to shape it into a pie. So, we settled for miscellaneous shaped pies or in other words, whatever shape would do. It turned out to look like the shape of ang ku kueh. Don’t laugh, I know they are horribly ugly.
When we decided to start baking them, we realized that we did not know how long to bake them for and on what gas mark should we bake them in. Thus, we made another search on Google. When they were already in the oven, we had to take them out again because I had forgotten to brush some egg on top of them. Then, we realized we did not have a brush. What the heck!!!
We slept at 2am that night, the night we baked the ugliest chicken pie ever.
But they tasted quite good though :-)
