A Day at the Playground

We took advantage of the fine weather on Sunday to bring chubby kid to the playground. We were hesitant at first, not knowing how she would react to being outdoors in the bright and sunny day. To our relief, it turned out to be OK.

We know that chubby kid loves going on the slide, as nursery staffs have told us that she likes playing on the slide in the nursery. So, when we reached the playground, we brought her to the slide first.

She absolutely loves it and keep on going up and down lots of times. I think the presence of other children around her made her feel like she is at the nursery. I knew that she could hear them, as she imitated some other children shouting but I was not sure if she could see them. My heart warmed at seeing her smile. However, it felt so heart-wrenching to see her "feel" her way around rather than "see" her way around. Even though she is partially sighted, her vision must have blurred out to the point of blinding her in the bright and sunny day. Her cap and sunglasses did not seem to make much of a difference. She kept her head down most of the time as it was too bright for her. My husband held her hand and guided her around and we encouraged her to try other equipment in the playground.

She loves being on the swing too. I think this is her first time on it.

Hopefully, if the weather permits, we will take her to the playground again.

hey, i know we as parents do feel bad for our kids. but then for them, it somehow is something they are born with, they might not even know what is the perfect vision. when they are happy, feel it with them. laughter and care makes them stronger.
